Mission:
The Area Progress Council of Warren County, Inc. is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization to plan and promote positive growth and development for Warren County.
APC accomplishes its mission through:
Advocacy: Working with local, state and federal governments to promote representation of community interests.
Membership & Education: Facilitating programs to promote current and future leaders.
Business & Community Development: Supporting initatives to promote a positive and proactive climate.
History:
APC's initial purpose was to pull together the highest level of civic leadership in the county - dedicated people of proven concern for the welfare and progress of Warren County - and unite them together as a team to help guide the County into the future. The Western Star and Franklin Chronical cosponsored the first formal meeting on July 8, 1968.
Interested in the economic and social progress of Warren County, the Council is devoted to the study, investigation, and promotion of activities to plan and prepare for the future.
The Area Progress Council has created and provided key leadership for numerous area institutions. Notable past initiatives include the Warren County United Way, the Warren County Planning office, the Warren County Career Center, the Ralph J. Stolle Countryside YMCA, Project Excellence for teacher recognition, and the Leadership Warren County program for leadership development.
Today the Area Progress Council represents the interests of over 100 Warren County organizations. We are governed by an active Board of Trustees comprised of influential and experienced business, education, and community leaders. A full time Administgrator manages member programs and coordinates activities such as Project Excellence, Leadership Warren County, and the Annual Economic Outlook Breakfast. Our offices are located in downtown Lebanon.
We encourage you to join us and support the Area Progress Council in its efforts to identify, initiate, and support activites which further the economic and social progress of Warren County.
