APC Advocacy Programs

The Area Progress Council has been an advocate of business, education, and community service since 1968. The Achievements page describes the many progressive, worthwhile area institutions whose foundations were created by APC advocacy and leadership efforts.

Current advocacy programs are conducted by the Board of Trustees via both personal and public communication with business, education, and community leaders. The goal of these activities is to inform, influence, and motivate both the public and Ohio 's decision makers favorably regarding issues of common interest to APC members.

The understanding of APC members' values and opinions necessary for strong, effective advocacy efforts depends on the frequency and quality of communication between APC representatives and our membership. You are encouraged to help us formulate and guide these efforts through:

  • Participation in member programs.
  • Familiarity with current APC initiatives and positions.
  • Communication with Trustees and staff.

Position statements, responsible representatives, and relevant information about APC advocacy activities are described in the accompanying areas of the web site.
