Community College

In 2002 the Area Progress Council undertook a study of post secondary education opportunities in Warren County. The study led to the conclusion that a two year community college should be created to increase the county's educational capital.

As a result of legislation championed by Ohio Representative Tom Raga, Warren County was established as a Community College District on a pilot program basis. A board for the Community College of Warren County was formed, and a pilot program, in cooperation with the Warren County Career Center, Miami University, Middletown, Cincinnati State and Sinclair Community College was organized to explore various post secondary educational offerings in Warren County as well as related issues. Based on the pilot program findings, the legislature in 2005 added Warren County to the community college service district of Sinclair Community College and directed the appointment of two Warren County representatives to the Sinclair Board of Trustees. Sinclair has indicated that they expect to establish a campus in Warren County as a base to offer courses locally and expect to have several thousand students attending there within the next ten years.
